Molalla Alters Web Site to Drop Poker
Molalla retooled its Web site Monday after learning that visitors were
just a click away from online casinos, pornographic material and adult
matchmaking services.
City Recorder Melanie Mabon, who oversees Molalla’s Web site,
www.molalla.net/UNSTRIPcity, said she was unaware that the site
generated advertising.
Mabon said Molalla uses a free Web hosting service from Bravenet, a
Canadian company.
Molalla’s site serves up the usual municipal menu — pictures of City
Council members, information about sewer bills and directions to parks.
But some spicy links were built into a Bravenet feature called "Today
In History."
